i suggest you add subsidiary questions next as they com eu - like - "did 80s fashion reflect new stlyes of music that were emerging? did the new music video industry [yes, that's when they started get serious about vidoes] influence how fashion trends went? if so, which bands had majjor influences? you will need to have samples of music and band biographies to go with your assignment.
interview your mum and dad [formally, taking notes, or recording it] about their fashion likes and dislikes, their musical influences, and ask them the question about music and bands influencing fashion.
